Pregnancy and Postpartum Support Group
Our virtual Pregnancy and Postpartum support group will provide a safe and nonjudgmental space for women in the postpartum period who are suffering from mood disorders. The content discussed will be confidential. Each group will vary in content based on needs of the group.
Anticipated topics include attachment, bonding, lactation, support in the postpartum period, recovery after birth, parenting, etc. Medication recommendations will not be addressed in group therapy, deferred to individual provider.
Inclusion Criteria:
- Patients who are pregnancy and up to 6 months postpartum (depending on interest may extend to 9-12 months postpartum)
- Currently in treatment (therapy and/or medication management) with providers at Rivia Mind or elsewhere
Exclusion Criteria:
- Acute symptoms that impair ability to engage in group therapy (ie mania/psychosis)
- Acute symptoms presenting a risk to safety including active suicidal/homicidal ideation/active substance abuse
Pregnancy & Postpartum Support Group Details:
Our Pregnancy & Postpartum support group sessions will be 60 minutes. We will meet on Thursdays
at 1:00pm - 2:00pm - On going
- On going sessions via google meet
- 60 minutes duration per session
- Cameras on during sessions to promote active engagement/patient comfort
- 6-8 participants
- Regular attendance strongly encouraged

Dr. Kimberly Mangla is a psychiatrist specializing in Women’s Mental Health and reproductive psychiatry.
Kelly Lidz, Nurse Practitioner Student Supervisor, MSN, PMHNP-BC
Kelly is a ANCC board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with 10 years of practice as an RN and NP.
