Joe earned his master of science in nursing from New York University, where he focused on psychopharmacology and various psychotherapy treatment modalities. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Joe spent several years conducting clinical research at Harvard University’s McLean Hospital and worked as a registered nurse on acute inpatient psychiatric units at both McLean Hospital and New York Presbyterian – Columbia University Medical Center. Before joining Rivia, Joe spent four years providing psychiatric care to underserved and at-risk patients at a community health center in Brooklyn. Joe is an ANCC board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, with experience providing treatment for a wide variety of mental health concerns, including mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, PTSD, and personality difficulties. He believes in providing a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment for every client, and understands the importance of empathy, trust, and compassion. He incorporates his diverse psychiatric background and knowledge into a holistic approach that is tailored to each client’s individual needs.
