I am an ANCC board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who partners with clients in exploring their own unique path to mental health and wellness in a warm, empathetic and safe environment. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Roberts Wesleyan College and my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Regent University, where I studied and trained in a variety of psychotherapy modalities. I also hold a Master of Science from Hunter College’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program.
I have 16 years of nursing experience that has directly informed my practice and ethos. I strongly believe trust, communication, shared humanity and authenticity are fundamental to the therapeutic relationship. My approach to care is centered on the idea that mental health support begins with treating the whole person, which includes, but is not limited to gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, culture and core values. I align with the principles of body neutrality and Health At Every Size (HAES). I’m extremely passionate about working with clients to find a sense of peace, balance and respect in relation to body image, food and movement.
I'm experienced in treating anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, panic disorder, substance abuse issues, eating disorders/ disordered eating and sleep issues. My speciality is in Women's mental health and I have completed Postpartum Support International’s training in postpartum mood and anxiety disorders. I’m working toward my certification in Perinatal Mental Health. I have a fervent passion for partnering with people on their journey into parenthood. This includes family planning, conceiving/ fertility issues, support through perinatal mood changes, the postpartum period and beyond. Parents are offered a safe space to honestly talk through the many challenges of mother/ fatherhood. Becoming a parent can be both hard and wonderful and holding space for both is so important. I also work with clients to maintain their own sense of self and self care at a time when both are often most challenged. Partnering with people on their path to change, growth and healing has been an incredible honor and privilege.
